Andrew Pantling leads WSOPE 6-Max NLHE

The 4th annual World Series of Poker Europe is underway in London, England, and the first event not only sold-out, but exceeded its cap by 40 players! Tournament officials had to work overtime to accommodate the 40 alternates that waited for the seats, but in the end the £2,500 buy-in 6-Max NLHE tournament went off without a hitch.

After two grueling days of play the tournament is down to the final six players, who will reconvene at the final table all with hopes of capturing the coveted WSOP bracelet along with the £170,820 in first-place prize-money.

Leading the way is Day 1 and Day 2 chip-leader Andrew Pantling who enters the final day with 627,000 chips, over 250,000 more than his nearest competitor, poker pro Chris Bjorin. Both Pantling and Bjorin will be looking over their shoulder, since lurking a little further back is poker superstar Phil “The Unabomber” Laak, sitting on 317,000 chips, and fresh off a strong showing at the English Poker Open.

Here are the seat assignments and chip-counts for the remaining players:

Seat 1: Willie Tann with 72,000 chips
Seat 2: Chris Bjorin with 368,500 chips
Seat 3: Phil Laak with 317,000 chips
Seat 4: Andrew Pantling with 627,000 chips
Seat 5: Ilan Rouah with 200,000
chips
Seat 6: David Peters with 251,500 chips
